Located in the heart of Sonoma, in a place known as the Valley of the Moon, this diverse and wondrous geothermal springs sanctuary is the last of its kind. Bordering Sonoma Creek and nestled among a mature canopy of large oaks with open meadows and rolling hills, these Springs uplift the very best of whole family wellness and recreation. People have come to these Springs for generations to soak in the healing waters and to gather for picnics and reunions, retreats and organizational meetings, birthdays and weddings, and for nature-based youth camps and field trips. The temperature on all three pools range from 85° F to 94° F, depending on weather (we shoot for cooler on hot days and warmer on cooler days). Join Anastasia in the warm spring pools on Thursday mornings in September for Water Yoga, a slower, meditative technique flowing from pose to pose that incorporates yoga, aerobics and stretching. Heidi's Water Yoga class is gentle enough for first timers while still challenging the seasoned practitioner.
In this class you will learn the practice of mind, body and breath connection and how it all works together to achieve a deeper, richer sense of your body's capabilities through, breath, mind and body connection. Enjoy being lead along a deep journey through yoga stretch focused on alignment, posture, flexibility and strength. With these tools you will gain wisdom on mindful practices, improving your energy, increasing flexibility and enlightening your spirit.
Sign up for this 4-class September series, or come for individual class drop-ins. Your class registration includes optional free swim time after class up until 5pm (pools close 1:30-2PM for shift change), as well as relaxation time on the grounds, by the creek, etc. and access to the cafe (when the cafe is open–currently this is TBD, staffing dependent).
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Anastasia Encarnacion is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Post Rehab, Transitional Exercise, Posture and Gait Specialist. She originally fell in love with athletics during her time at university as a way to de-stress from academic rigor where her lifelong love of hiking and tree climbing were joined by martial arts, volleyball, swimming, ballet and yoga. She has been a group land exercise instructor for 35 years, an AEA certified water exercise instructor for 22, and Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program Leader for 17. Becoming a Pilates instructor in 2008 and a NASM certified personal trainer in 2013 gave her the ability to concentrate more deeply with clients on correct movement technique, especially as it applies to their everyday functional needs. Other specialty certificates she holds include: Strength and Conditioning for Seniors Consultant, Brains and Balance Past 60 Specialist, Back Hab, Ai Chi 1, FallProof!, The Complete Functional Fitness Specialist and Sports Nutrition and Body Composition.
Anastasia's studies are concentrated on exercise science. Some of her special studies, since 2003, include: the arthritis spectrum, breathwork, mobility, strength, flexibility, posture, gait, the fragile elder, precautions for shoulder, hip and knee replacements, self myofascial release, MS, Parkinson’s, chronic stroke, traumatic brain injury, chronic pain reduction, the shoulder girdle and pelvic girdle complexes, spine, knees, ankles and feet.

If you miss a class in your series due to illness or planned/unexpected personal circumstances we are not able to offer refunds, thank you for understanding. You may however offer your class spot to a friend! Please phone or email us ahead by 9am on or before the date of the class you will miss to inform us of the name of the person you are offering your class spot to for that day.
For all advance cancellation and/or refund requests, these must be in writing and emailed to: ops@mortonswarmsprings.com and will be fully OR partially refunded following the below schedule.
IF written cancelation request is received (via email):
- 14 or MORE days prior to first day of class, 75% of course fees are refundable.
- 8-13 days prior to first day of class, 50% of course fees are refundable.
- 7 days or LESS before the first day of class, 0% of the course fees are refundable.
